A woman called Charlotte was walking on a
cold, windy night. She had a jacket on and
a hat and gloves. She saw a homeless man
outside with a cardboard box for a
blanket. Charlotte saw him and felt
horrible for how he was in the cold
weather.
Without hesitation, she came up to the
man and gave him her jacket, gloves, and
hat because she knew that he needed it
more even though she didn’t get by her
self. She was freezing and shivering, but
she did not let that bother her.
She made her way to the pharmacy store
because her mother was very ill, and she
was going to buy her some medicine. When
she went to go pay the cashier told her
she was short 8 dollars. Charlotte begged
the cashier if he could just ignore it and
told him she didn’t have a lot of money
and her mother was ill. The cashier did
not care, So Charlotte was upset and
frustrated and when she about to leave,
the homeless man tapped Charlotte in the
back and told her that he can help her
with the 8 dollars.
Charlotte asked the man how he can pay
for her if he is poor. The man told her
that he had 20 dollars from people
helping him with money. He left and he
turned around and smiled and said
“Kindness always pays off”.

Be true to yourself – As you
set out on life’s road unsure
of the path you’ll go, the most
important thing you can do is
to always be true to “you”.
Always remember who you are
in moments of struggle or
fear. Never forget or give up
on the hopes and dreams you
hold dear. There will be
setbacks and rejection and
moments of failure too, but
you must overcome any
frustration to achieve the
potential of you.
Don’t forget to smile, or
laugh, or to live in the
present; no matter where life
takes you make every memory
pleasant. As you travel along
your journey, know that
you’re never alone and I’ll
always be here for you should
you need the comfort of home.
